Hand-forged, Chandelier 01 consists of two hammered iron rods, assembled while hot to form a tripod base and two candle supports. The first support takes the shape of a rolled socket, while the second is a gripping clamp. The artisan strikes and stretches the material on the anvil, gradually shaping its silhouette. The manufacturing process takes several hours. Also known as a rushlight, this primitive lighting was widely used along the Atlantic coast, from Ireland to the Pyrenees, including England and Brittany, until the 20th century. In the past, a simple fragment of resin harvested from a tree would replace the wax candle.
